This little quiltlet I made for colours of Africa. The theme is "Rainbow". When he came to power, Nelson Mandela, came to call South Africa the rainbow nation because of the diversity of its people. This theme was chosen because it can be seen as a symbol of hope. To connect with this theme, I made the background in rainbowcolours, and used the ashanti symbol for hope "Nyame biribi wo soro", which literally means god is in heaven.

Prachtig Margeeth!
Lovely. I have been thinking of tearing strips and sewing them overlapped like this. Nice to see yours here. A nice tribute to Africa and Mandela.
