Hier klopt iets niet.

Bij de derde les van 'quilten speciaal' kregen we als huiswerkopdracht het maken van stempels waarmee je stoffen met een contrast erin kunt maken. Dus bijvoorbeeld groot en klein en dan een heel groot stempel en een heel klein stempeltje gebruiken.

Toevallig was voor de quiltgroep Artfor12 het nieuwe thema zwart-wit (en alles wat daar tussen zit). En als zwart wit geen contrast is, dan weet ik het niet meer. Dus heb ik besloten om deze twee dingen te combineren. Ik heb stempels gemaakt met de woorden zwart en wit erop en hiermee met zwarte en witte verf op zwarte en witte stof gestempeld. En daar heb ik dan weer een quiltje van gemaakt:


En toen ik het quiltje af had, was het eerst wat jongste zei: "het klopt niet". "Wat klopt er dan niet?" "Nou, hier staat 'zwart' maar de letters zijn wit." "Ja, maar daar onder staan toch zwarte letters?" Jaha, maar dat klopt ook niet, kijk maar dat stofje is helemaal niet zwart, maar wit"
Dus hoe je er ook naar kijkt, er klopt altijd iets niet.....

Our assignment for the third lesson of 'quilten speciaal' was making stamps and using those to make fabrics with some kind of contrast in it. For instance, making a tiny stamp and a huge stamp gives big and small.
The new theme of the group Artfor12 happened to be black and white. Because black and white are very contrasting values, I decided to combine my assingment fo 'quilten speciaal' with this theme. I made stamps with the words "zwart" (black) and "wit" (white) on them, stamped with white paint on black fabric, with black paint on white fabric and made a little quilt with those fabrics.
When the quilt was finished, the first thing youngest said was: "this isn't right mummy". "Why not?" "Well, it says "black" but the characters are white." "Yes, but below that are black characters which spell black?" "Yes, that's right, but the fabric they are on is not black at all, its white, so that isn't right either".
So no matter how you regard it, there always is something not entirely correct.
